As a coffee drinker from the time I was a kid – I come from a family of coffee lovers, I have narrowed down the five best gifts to give fellow coffee lovers for birthdays, holidays or just because.
1. Keurig
Starting this list with a classic – a Keurig coffee machine makes brewing a single cup of fresh coffee fast and easy. Keurig offers a couple of options with a coffee pot as well so you can brew one cup of coffee or enough for a crowd. K-cups are available for the machines in a variety of roasts and flavored coffees as well. You can also buy a reusable filter to brew any ground coffee you like. Tea, chai tea, hot chocolate, and even iced coffee and iced tea K-cup pods are also available making this an incredibly versatile gift.
2. Nespresso
Nespresso machines also brew single-serve coffee from pods and they brew espresso as well. The the difference lies in the brewing method. The brewing method used on Nespresso machines extracts the coffee using intense pressure. This method creates a velvety crema that sits atop the coffee or espresso that Nespressos are known for.
I gifted my parents a Nespresso machine a couple of years ago and it has turned out to be one of their most used gifts. They love making a Nespresso coffee using Starbucks Nespresso pods and scooping up the crema or froth created by the machine. They recently tried the milk frother that came with the machine (but can be bought separately) to steam and froth milk to pour over their coffee for a real treat. My parents now prefer using their Nespresso to grabbing coffee at a coffee shop!
I also gifted this to my best friend at her bridal shower. It’s a wedding registry must! She and husband love using it to make espresso in the morning or for an afternoon pick-me-up. When it’s warmer out, they brew directly into the HyperChiller I paired with it.
3. HyperChiller
If you prefer iced coffee, espresso or lattes, a HyperChiller is a must! It allows you to chill your favorite beverage in a minute without diluting it with melted ice.
Pour water into the designated interior pieces and freeze the HyperChiller overnight. Tip: Be careful not to overfill it past the maximum fill line to help avoid it cracking. Once frozen, pour in your hot coffee – or other drink of your choice, like wine or tea. Swirl it around for 60 seconds and then pour it into your cup. You can even brew your K-Cup or Nespresso pod directly into the HyperChiller like my best friend and her husband do for fast and easy iced drinks.
When going to link the HyperChiller, I noticed there was a new model out. Both my best friend and my aunt had issues with their HyperChillers cracking even when they weren’t overfilled. I’m guessing the company has made them sturdier. They do have great customer service though because replacing them both times was a very easy process and neither has had any issues since.
4. Insulated mug
Whether you prefer your coffee hot or iced, an insulated mug will help keep it the right temperature. Mugs and tumblers make great gifts because you can never have enough!
For hot coffee, I have gifted this 14 oz Yeti mug and this 18oz Swig mug. Both allow you to pop on the lid on so they’re easy to grab and go. You do not have to spend time trying to screw it on and worry about the lid and mug handle aligning. You can personalize the Yeti mug, along with many other mugs and tumblers on their site, with initials, names or even logos. It makes such a special personalized gift. My best friend gave me one with my initials as a birthday present and I always think of her whenever I use it. It also inspired me to give them as gifts and add them to this list!
When drinking iced coffee, there’s nothing worse than a great cup of coffee getting diluted by the ice. An insulted tumbler helps keep your coffee fresh, as if it were just poured. The Yeti tumbler, like the mug, can also be personalized. I also like the Simple Modern tumblers. This tumbler and this tumbler are my two favorites. They fit the perfect amount of iced coffee and you have the option to drink them with a straw (included with both) or to use the lid that closes (included with this one) to help prevent spills if you’re on the go.
5. Coffee, coffee, coffee
A gift for coffee lovers would not be complete without this one essential item: coffee. If you know the recipient loves a particular blend, include that. You can also share your favorite coffee for them to try. To make this gift extra special, make my homemade coffee-infused simple syrup and share the recipe for them to try themselves. With only two ingredients, this fancy sounding creation is actually so simple to make.
Add these Oreo truffles along with the coffee and coffee-infused simple syrup to make this the ultimate coffee and chocolate lover’s gift!
