Waterproof Makeup: From Pool Days to Taylor Swift’s Rain Shows

On days that the normal makeup routine isn’t going to cut it, my waterproof routine has you covered! I tested the staying power of these products after wearing them to Taylor Swift’s “rainiest rain show that ever rain showed, ever, ever, ever.” While the rest of me was soaking wet, my makeup did not budge.

After that Taylor Swift concert, this has officially become my go-to waterproof makeup routine anytime I need my makeup to last.

Waterproof makeup to ensure your look will last even at an even like Taylor Swift’s “rainiest rain shower”

Brightening Eye Balm – This Cooling + Brightening Eye Balm is a hybrid skincare and makeup product. I apply over my eye cream to under my eye and sweep up onto my brow bone as a highlight. I have been using this since it launched and continue to repurchase time and time again.

Primer – A good, grippy primer is a must for a waterproof makeup look. This matte finish primer is long wearing and helps give skin a smoothed effect.

Tinted Primer – Even though I use a grippier primer as a base, I can’t help but apply Tula’s Filter Primer over it. I love the blurring effect and hint of color it gives.

Foundation – Like in my going out/event makeup routine, I use either this foundation for full coverage or this foundation for medium coverage. Both are long-wearing and waterproof! The Double Wear foundation also has the benefit of a matte finish.

For a pool day, I usually wear this tinted moisturizer with SPF 20 or this CC+ foundation + glow serum with SPF 40. They’re not waterproof but I like the lighter weight feel and SPF that they offer.

Concealer – I use this full-coverage anti-aging waterproof concealer for an illuminated glow. It looks like it’s being discontinued so I plan to try this concealer that is the same, just without the illumination as well as this waterproof concealer.

Setting Powder – This waterproof setting powder helps lock in the liquid foundation and concealer.

Setting Spray – This cult-favorite setting spray has been my go-to for years. I spray this after the setting powder to make sure it doesn’t budge. I re-apply after applying bronzer and blush.

Bronzer – I use this waterproof matte bronzer as a contour/bronzer. It gives such nice dimension to the face.

Blush – From the same brand as the bronzer, I use this blush which is also a favorite in my everyday makeup routine. I alternate between the shades Exposed, Paaarty and Dollface.

Mascara – Waterproof mascara is a must as a part of a waterproof makeup routine. I typically use this drugstore mascara when I need a waterproof one.

Setting Spray – Once my makeup is finished, I use this setting spray again to make sure it lasts.

With these products, your makeup should last for hours in even the “rainiest rain show.”
