If you’re an iced coffee lover who likes to sweeten your coffee, you likely know this struggle all too well – adding sugar means the granules sink to at the bottom of the cup and don’t get well mixed throughout. Classic simple syrup sweetens it but then you’re diluting your precious coffee.
With only two ingredients, coffee-infused simple syrup is the way to go! It is easy to make and it makes a sweet gift for fellow coffee lovers.
Ingredients to make Coffee-Infused Simple Syrup
- Granulated sugar
- Your favorite brewed coffee
Kitchen tools needed
- Small to medium sized saucepan
- Silicone spoon/spatula
- Liquid measuring cup
- Dry measuring cup – I use the scoop included in this set!
- Container(s) for the syrup
Start by pouring a cup of your favorite coffee over an equal amount of sugar in a small saucepan over medium/high heat. Bring this to a boil, stirring occasionally to ensure the sugar dissolves. Once the syrup begins to boil, about 10 minutes, remove it from the heat and allow to cool before transferring it to a container. I typically double the recipe and use two or three of these creamer dispensers to store it in the refrigerator.
Tip
This can also be used as an ice cream topping for an especially decadent treat. If you prefer a thicker consistency to your syrup, once it has boiled, reduce to a simmer for about 10 minutes. You can even pair this syrup with a drizzle of chocolate syrup to create the perfect mocha drink or sundae.
