Refrigerate or freeze for about 30 minutes. I usually place Oreo balls in the refrigerator.

Place half of the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 40 second intervals until chocolate is melted.
Remove Oreo balls from the refrigerator or freezer and drop them into the melted chocolate.
Use two forks to help coat the Oreo balls and then lift them from the bowl, placing them on a plate, platter, or parchment paper-lined cookie sheet.
Place the chocolate-coated Oreo truffles back into the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to harden.
Finishing Touches
Once the Oreo truffles are semi-set, you can drizzle them with additional melted chocolate, Oreo crumbs, sprinkles, mini chocolate chips or even your favorite small candy like Reese's Pieces or mini M&Ms.
Place the Oreo truffles back into the fridge to allow to set again following the final touches. Once set, store the Oreo truffles in an airtight container until you're ready to enjoy!
- When making food that is allergy-friendly, always, always, always double check the ingredient lists to ensure you are cautious in your preparation so no cross-contamination occurs. I keep all of my supplies for nut-free baking separate and labeled where possible to ensure what I make is truly safe to eat for my friends with allergies.
- You can mix up this recipe by using different flavored Oreos, like Mint or Birthday Cake. Just ensure the Oreos you use are not Double Stuf, Mega Stuf or The Most Stuf because it will throw off the cookie to filling ratio when blending with the cream cheese.
